Photomicrograph showing the retrogradely labeled cells in the preoptic region after an injection in the Barrington's nucleus. Note that the distribution of the retrogradely labeled cells is clearly different from that shown in A after the LC+periLC injection. In particular, a cluster of cells is specifically labeled in the magnocellular subdivision of the medial part of the bed nucleus of the stria terminalis.
